Mountain Hardwear Mesa Convertible Pant - Men's
December 9, 2007
I got these pants from a friend. He was too short for them so I told him I'd take them off of his hands. The night I got them, we went on a short hike so I could test them out. Let me tell you, these pants are great. They move well, and you can hardly feel them. They're definitely gonna be on the AT with me.

Mountain Hardwear WindStopper Tech Jacket - Men's
December 5, 2007
This is a great jacket! Mountain Hardware has outdone themselves with this one. I'm an avid backpacker and an amateur rock climber. This jacket works wonders as a light mid-layer. The only downside to this one is it's not too warm. But, the simple fact that i stuck my arm out the window at 80 mph and no wind came in on me makes up for it tenfold. Absolutely a great choice for your backwood romps.

Fan-freaking-tastic!
Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad
December 5, 2007
First of all, I'm 6'3 175. I'm a big time backpacker. I got the 4 short to shed so I could save the precious space in my pack. This pad does exactly what I need it to do. It goes down 4 to 5 inches below my butt so for anyone taller, you know how it will fit. It will keep you nice and warm throughout the night. Good luck out there!
