Mountain Hardwear Vented Sun Hat
July 19, 2008
I like the material and the lightness; the waterproofing is good; the headband is a bit snug for someone with my head circumference (but I use it anyway). For desert living, it's useful for walking, especially walking early/late (the only times you can walk comfortably), but since the sun is at an angle it would be better to have broader brim!

My savior
Sea To Summit 100% Premium Silk Mummy Sleeping Bag Liner w/ Hood
July 16, 2008
I used this sleep sack to travel around India, and it saved me from dirty slept in hostel sheets and nasty overnight trains. In addition, I *love* it as an addition to keeping me warm camping. This really does add 10 degrees to my bag. Silk is the way to go if you're going to use this for travel or backpacking because it packs way smaller than the cotton version. Wish I had splurged for the one with the pillow case - oh well, next time!

Patagonia Active Classic Cami - Women's

Very comfortable tank, good for sleeping, lounging, or even wearing out and about with a bra (if you're well endowed).

Low riders didn't ride up me
Patagonia Active Boy Short - Women's
July 16, 2008
I didn't have any problems with riding, as other users experienced. In fact, I wore these on a 36km trek and don't think I once had to think about them. Maybe it helped that I sized on the smaller side? The fabric is a little heavy for summer weather, but I'm sure I'll love them for skiing and alpine touring.

Love 'em
The North Face Mountain Sneaker - Men's
July 16, 2008
I bought these for my boyfriend, and he loves 'em. The fit is true to size, they are almost as comfortable as skate shoes, and I think they look good too.

fit didn't work for me
Smith Variant Helmet
February 26, 2008
Sm = too small; Med = too big. I'm not goldilocks, but this helmet's fit isn't remotely as good as the fit of a Giro helmet (which has the back-of-head adjustable feature). Too bad because I usually really like other smith products.
