The Newport Trail is the most impressive all-purpose shoe that I have ever worn. Keen has managed to combine the comfort of the Newport sandal with the ruggedness of a trail shoe to create footwear that effectively bridges the weather gap between a sandal and a winter boot. For the cold and snow, I rely on my excellent Growlers - warm, light and very comfortable!

I wear both styles of Newport sandals (leather and H2) whenever and wherever I can. They are made for my feet! One caution, though. I discovered that I needed a half-size larger in the H2 model than in the leather Newport. Also, try the Growlers for winter weather; they are outstanding in every way!

After having a double-knee replacement, I wear one pair of these all winter inside as my slippers and another pair all summer outside (along with my Newport H2's) as my everyday sandals. I have been so pleased with the Newport that I have just ordered the new Newport Trail and I wear the Growler (outstanding!) in winter.
