Outdoor Research Mentor Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 24, 2007

The Mentor jacket has definitely exceeded what I thought a jacket could do. It has kept out all wetness and rain. It also ventilates very well. It is amazing at handling weather from hiking to biking to climbing. The side zips on the jacket are very useful and the material is spectacular. All of the zippers are waterproof coated and they perform very well. The other plus of the jacket is it has plenty of room to layer underneath and the hood also fits over my bike helmet and climbing helmet. very good jacket and well worth the money.

The North Face Snowshoe Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Climashield Prism

Rating for this product: 4 October 23, 2007

I got this bag and it is very warm. The head and neck gaiter adjustments are easy to use. The material on the outside helps to resist moisture. The bag packs a little big but, it is a solid 0 degree bag for the price.

Kelty Red Cloud Backpack - 5000-6650 cu in

Rating for this product: 5 October 23, 2007

I have a 6650 Red Cloud. This pack can hold everything and anything. I worked at a camp where I led two week backpacking trips and had to carry over 9 liters of water and a big first aid kit. I was also able to then fit everything else on the inside, including tent and air mattress. Plus, then I had room for when people got hurt and we needed to divide weight up. Basically, the pack's a mule. The pack is sturdy at heavy weights and has lots of padding. The hip belt could form a little bit more to your body, and I wouldn't recommend to smaller sized people. The material can stand up to anything, and if it doesn't, well it has a lifetime warranty with Kelty and their repair service is excellent. Overall, it is a great buy.

Outdoor Research Hydroseal Dry Sacks

Rating for this product: 5 October 23, 2007

I had one of these Hydroseal bags in my pack as my stuff sack for my clothes and my sleeping bag will canoing down the James river in Virginia. one of my campers on the trip i was leading knocked my pack into the river and it floated in the water for about 20 minutes before I found my pack there. When I looked inside the Hydroseal bag everything was still bone dry. I find that the Hydroseal bag is well worth the money and one of the best investments you can make.
