I bought this ski based on reviews only and I was a little concerned that I had made the right choice. But Powder Mag and the ski testers knew what they were doing when they gave it the Skier's Choice Award. This ski is phenomenal! I took it to a ski area to get to know it and dial it in. The Joule cut through crud like a hot knife through butter, was impressive holding an edge when I opened it up on the groomers, and was extremely nimble making quick turns in the trees. I was a little worried that the light weight would cause it to be deflected and tossed around in heavy stuff, but no worries...it was solid. This ski will make you a super star. FYI, I had it mounted with Dynafit TLT Vertical ST bindings (which were impressively solid BTW), and used the Garmont Mega Stars (also impressively stiff and LIGHT).

Are these boots for real? I've been skiing for 24 years and have been tele-ing for the last 7, and decided to make the switch to AT for BC. I have been utterly impressed with the lightness and stiffness of the Garmont Mega Stars. I had my alpine boots custom fit with custom footbeds and was used to excellent control of my skis, and was prepared to give some of that up with these boots. Didn't happen. I get the same translation of subtle foot movements to my ski with these boots, and they weigh a fraction of the amount, and are super comfortable to tour in. I'm ecstatic! I also purchased the Black Diamond Joules (love 'em, read the reviews) and mounted them with the Dynafit TLT Vertical ST bindings. I wanted a light BC set-up, but it surprised me in being totally solid in-bounds as well. Gear these days, it's nuts.
