Great!

Vasque Flux Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 6, 2008

I wear these about everyday that I can get away with it. Even in the winter! I put a pair of smartwool socks on with them and my feet stay super warm. In the summer I dont wear socks with them at all. I have taken these on a trek once and didnt like them at all. Stuff on the trail always seems to find a way to get between my feet and the shoe. Then I have to stop and get it out which is not easy to do with a heavy pack on your back. I took them paddeling about 5 times this summer and they performed great! They do a great job of grabbing wet rocks and keeping you balanced while in water. much better than an old pair of running shoes would ever do. they dont blister my feet either.

It was "picture perfect"

Arc'teryx Stingray Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 5, 2008

it was coming down cats and dogs and whatever other animals it comes down yesterday and I had to walk a half mile back to my car. Take God I had my stingray! I put on some cheap waterproof pants and my arcteryx and headed out! I thought I was the baddest mother just thrashing through the rain without missing a beat. Then it happened. It was "picture perfect" and I was in the right place at the right time. A giant truck was flying down the road and with it came a giant "picture perfect" wall of water that crashed me! if I wasn't already wet from the rain now I was covered from head to toe. It stopped me in my tracks and all I could do was turn around and look at the trunk with a shrug. Then it happened again. Another "picture pefect" wall of water hits me in the back while I am still looking at the first truck. True story I swear! I finally got back to my car, then back home and I couldn't wait to see if any water had gotten through. As to my excitement I was dry as a bone! the jacket is bigger (wide) than I would have thought, but length is perfect. It is made to have more layers under it and this jacket by itself wont keep you warm. at least not on an extreme cooled day. it packs very small considering its a real jacket. but thats expected from Arc'teryx. Over all, best jacket hand down I have ever owned. well worth the money!

Mountainsmith Altura 1-Person 3-Season Tent

Rating for this product: 5 February 27, 2008

I bought this tent really only b/c is was cheap. I wasn't planning on using it all that much and it was just the crap tent for when all my buddies went one night and we were drinking someone could jack it up and i would have to worry about being out much. It is actually a nice tent though. When my g/f goes camping we use a 2 person sleeping bag and it fits in fine. pad and all. that is if it your g/f, or wife. I would not want to sleep with my best friend in it. The only down side is the steaks. OH SO HEAVY! but if you have some light weight ones from another tent just toss those in your bag. Another idea would be, don't take all the steaks. The tent comes with like 15 of them and it only needs 8 for the tent. the rain fly just snaps to the tent so you don't need any for the fly. Over all I have been very satisfied with this tent and would recommend it to someone who wants their own space on a trip and doesn't want to spend a crazy amount of money. plus it packs very small. much smaller than you would expect for something that is not a big name brand.
