What drives me ... to live ... fully! To experience life; to never stop exploring; to always be curious; to be open, honest and real - to be constantly challenged so I can grow.

I am a kiwi (from New Zealand) who grew up the most remote and beautiful part of the country, Fiordland. I now live in Christchurch, New Zealand, which is regarded as the outdoors capital of the country. Here I can kayak with dolphins in the morning, snowshoe in the mountains in the afternoon and mountain bike in the forest in the evening all in a single day.

As a professional photographer I travel for work and work to suit my lifestyle. I have traveled to about 30-odd countries including parts of India, Nepal, South East Asia, North America, Europe, South Pacific, Australiasia.

My next big adventure will take me dog sledding in Alaska and mountain biking the Yukon in September/October 2009.

I would love to live in Canada or the USA for a while so I could explore these vast and interesting countries. New Zealand is spectacularly beautiful and remote but also very small and far away from the rest of the world whereas North America is so huge you could spend a lifetime exploring it without all the time spent on airplanes.

If I had a single wish it would be that as people we learn to "make money like the bee" ... don't destroy the flower in the process! Harmony between man and the natural world is my ultimate wish - ironically the power to see this wish come true lies with the individual, with the consumer and the voter. To all the people in America, VOTE for a president that values an environment in harmony with the economy.

Excellent all round jacket

Backcountry.com Shift Softshell Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 July 23, 2008

Having worked in outdoors apparel I know good gear when I wear it - this jacket rocks - excellent fit, stylish design and functional for a wide range of activities in New Zealand's varied and fast changing conditions. I use it for night riding in the hills and forests on my mountain bike, hiking in the mountains, road riding on the peninsular and it also looks snazzy at the pub or coffee shop. I am 5 foot 10 inches tall and the it fit nicely through my torso and my arms - I would definitely recommend this jacket as a good buy. Hells bells - I paid US$70 just to ship it down here to New Zealand, it must be good!

Great support and all round use

CW-X Expert Tight - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 July 23, 2008

I use these tights for running and hiking and occasionally for biking - they provide excellent support for injury prone knees and quads, especially when exercising in the cold. When they come out of the box you think "no way will these fit" - I'm 5 ft 10 inches tall and have quads built from years of mountain biking and road riding in the New Zealand foothills and these tights still fit me neatly. More reflective tape and ankle zips would be the only small but insignificant improvements.
