Smith Holt Helmet

Hey out there, I just ordered one in an XL (Matte White because I wanna possibly paint my own designs onto it...) but I'm curious if I should have just gone with a L? I hear people sayin it fits their huge noggins great, but I'm curious if they altered their regular size choice at all for this product? Typically I would wear an XL (Giganto Dome) so I got that again this time. Good move??
Nice, little smaller than I had hoped though..

The Escobars are a little bit smaller than I'd expected, the face size says large but this is more on the medium/slightly largeish spectrum. They look slick though and fit great. The diffusion of light they give is good too, it allows for good vision while achieving some massive style. The colors are quite different than what's depicted on here though (at least Gold/Brown) so look at some other sites.

Good fit, but not ideal on a wetter day...
Celtek Bjorn Leines Forcast Glove - Men's
January 3, 2008
These are the first pair of under/park gloves I've owned but they fit well and stay warm most of the time. On a wetter day (if it's sleeting or whatever) the leather texture on the palm tends to lock up and freeze a bit. Nothing more hand warmth doesn't fix, but still. They are durable though (so far) and feel pretty solid, plus I dig the colors a lot. A pretty good (but not excellente) glove.

Good, Great, Grand, Wonderful!
Anon Figment Hydro Print Goggles

These are the best (and priciest) set of goggles I've picked up, they have perfect vision and shield the sun well, while providing a lot of comfort (I wear a helmet as well) if they do get a bit of fog on them they clear up in a jiff. I recommend these goggles to anyone wanting to step up to a nicer set from their typical use ones

After using it on the mountain...
DC Avalanche Jacket - Men's
December 12, 2007
Consider this a "as a snowboarding jacket" review. It sucks! I recommend this jacket if you're planning on wearing it around casually, after riding in it up on the mountain today the waist clinging got really annoying, anytime I wiped out (which was fairly often) the waist elastic would pull up above my waist and I'd have to constantly be pulling it back down to a comfortable position below my snow pants. The jacket also doesn't insulate very well. Good if you're just hangin out in the snow and need warmth, but bad if you're sweating like a dog and need to dump some heat. No vents, no true powder skirt. It's definitely a casual jacket. Don't buy it to board in.

Comfy, good price, but options lacking...
DC Avalanche Jacket - Men's
November 6, 2007
The jacket fits well it's a touch puffy though... one thing that severely bugs me about the jacket is it has no interior/media pockets. So I'm stuck lacing my iPod through my pants then the jacket. Not a big deal, but still, a coat without a media pocket is... rare. The bottom of the jacket is a little funky too, the elastic waist clings way tight. Good to keep snow out, but kind of awkward to be wearing... In all not a bad jacket but if you want a snowboarding jacket that has more function look elsewhere.

Solid backpack. Small pockets.
Burton Emphasis Pack
September 6, 2007
This backpack is definitely comfy to wear. They've put some nice padding on the shoulders so you're not digging into your arms all day long if you've got a decent amount of weight crammed in there. The colors are vibrant as well, which makes it a flashy (but not too pompous...) pack. The side and to pockets leave a lot to be desired though. I typically carry a lot of stuff around so it was kind of annoying to have these dinky little pockets for a ton of extra stuff. The laptop pocket is useful though, it fits inside the main pocket underneath a sealed flap. This is a cool feature. I use a lot of art supplies so the smaller side pockets were a bit crammed by the time I was done with it (the top flap is almost useless as well, it'll fit a camera or an ipod fine but beyond that I wouldn't bother with it...) In all it's a solid backpack. Comfy and transports a decent amount of stuff. The side pockets are a little dainty but they still seal a decent amount of stuff as well. I'd probably but a more elaborate (one with more pockets) version if I could do it again...

Good. Cool design, crappy fit.
Globe Focus Skate Shoe - Men's
September 6, 2007
I would recommend ordering at least a half size larger than what you normally wear in this shoe. At least for me the shoe is very tight fitting on the sides. It's not too bad but compared to the old set of Globes I'd been wearing these seem to pinch a bit too tight to tromp around in them all day long. I bought the SWYD version, really cool, unique design and the textures and patterning on them are very well-made. The design has withstood a variety of elements that I've put the shoes through so far. Definitely a durable shoe. Overall I'd recommend this shoe but just keep in mind that it runs a bit tight.
