Tank Feet
KEEN Targhee ll Hiking Shoe - Women's
June 24, 2007
First, if you have never seen this shoe in real life and are just buying it from the picture be aware that while it's super cute from the side it's rather clunky from a top view. When I have these on and look down, it looks as if I have little tanks on my feet. I really like them, and they're quite durable. However, I find them a little too clunky for when I'm scrambling up paths with tree roots snaking through because my shoes will often become stuck. Other than that, it's a great hiking shoe with a lot of arch support. It also fit perfectly out of the box and is quite comfortable.

Drip Drip Drip Even In My PreCip
Marmot PreCip Jacket - Women's
June 24, 2007
For regular hiking or walking in the rain, this jacket is a dream which I love. However, for scrambles in torrential downpours I found that I still got drenched. In fact, my fellow hikers who had used .89 cent emergency clear ponchos purchased at walmart were drier than I was. No matter how tightly I pulled the jacket around me water still seeped up at the waist causing anything I had stored in the mesh pockets to become wet. Also, although it is fairly light-weight I wish it stored smaller than it does or perhaps came with a little pouch. Otherwise, I really love this jacket and am very happy with my purchase.

Perfect Pants
The North Face Meridian Cargo Pant - Men's
June 24, 2007
I wanted to get my boyfriend a lightweight but durable pair of pants suitable for hiking in the horrible humid summer heat. Due to the great reviews, I got this pair and so far he seems to be incredibly happy with them. They're very breathable and light, but haven't snagged or ripped even through scrambles through bushes and down mountains.

A good pant for hiking
Mountain Hardwear Cordillera Pant - Women's
May 23, 2007
I got these in black and really like them. Despite the description, I would never wear them out or anywhere except for hiking because of the material. However, I do love them so for hiking. They have extra room in the knees and allow for a lot of movement. Plus, the material is very durable. I may or may not have slid down some through some bushes at one point, but the pants didn't snag, rip, or anything of the like. Also, I am in love with the soft chamois lined waist. The lined waist is not highly breathable, but it's very comfortable. On my second time wearing them, I was stuck in an unexpected horrendous rain storm. While they're not waterproof, they dry incredibly quickly and allowed me to be a lot more comfortable afterwards than I would have been otherwise.
