Arc'teryx Stingray Jacket - Men's

March 6, 2008

This is a softshell jacket, whilst the Sidewinder SV is a hardshell jacket.

Well, not exactly true, Stingray is a GoreTEx soft shell, which is not a true soft shell, but a 3-layer GoreTex with softer outer layer and a brush interior. it is just as waterproof as regular GoreTex, but it is heavier, and softer to the touch. If you do a lot of touring or backcountry use, get the SIdewinder, for resort skiing GoreTex Soft shell (Stingray) is king.
