Hiking beats sitting at home any day, especially when there's so much to explore right outside our home. We have five mountain ranges within sixty miles of home - more wilderness acres to explore than any place in the US outside of Alaska. We are empty-nesters who are making up for lost time, proving that it is never too late to get outside and enjoy.

Cobbler?

AlpineAire Apple Blueberry Fruit Cobbler

Rating for this product: 1 August 27, 2008

The label said cobbler, and we even cooked it longer than suggested to give it extra time to get closer to cobbler, but it never got there. Even after hiking all day and as hungry as bears, this dessert wasn't edible. The sauce never got thick, the biscuits were still dough, the taste was very bland, save your dollars for something else.

Recommended

Mountain Hardwear Mesa Short - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 May 9, 2008

These shorts are so great that I bought another pair. The sizing runs a little small, but the shorts are comfortable and the material has stood up to all the abuse that I've dished out the past two years, sliding on rocks, etc. The chamois lining on the waistband wicks sweat away, just as promised. I would definitely recommend these.

Great Product

National Geographic TOPO! State Series CD-ROM

Rating for this product: 5 November 2, 2007

The maps are essential for our weekly hikes, and easy to use with my GPS data. Even if you don't use a GPS, you'll love these maps.

Great Tent

Kelty Gunnison 4.1 Tent 4-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 May 3, 2007

We've been car camping for thirty years, and this tent is perfect - quick & easy to put up, kept us dry without guy ropes, the two doors are great. No condensation at all - great ventilation. Recommend that you also buy the footprint.
