Great jacket
The North Face Apex Free Climb Jacket - Men's
March 22, 2008
The cut of this softshell lends itself to be worn slim style. I ordered down a size and it's perfect. I'm 190, 6'1" and the M is fine for a trim fit. Otherwise I would have found it too large. Beads up any rain and is surprisingly warm.

Light on the way up. Comfortable on the way down.
Osprey Packs Exposure 66 Backpack - 4000cu in
November 17, 2007
I really appreciate this Osprey pack after using a much heavier but not much bigger pack. Light weight and 66L, it carries a full load for a week's trek (especially if you also pack light gear). The support I find to be excellent, while not bulky and stiff. The trim design helps on the uneven way up. I usually divide my gear in color bags so there is no need for added access (and weight) of side or bottom entry. I'm very pleased.

Clean when you need it most.
Backcountry.com Goat Klean Kanteen - 40 oz
November 17, 2007
Never did like tasting plastic when I'm thirsty. Goat Klean does keep it clean, and sometimes you do need to carry a 40 ounce.

Great pants for a close fit.
Marmot Scree Softshell Pant - Men's
November 5, 2007
The M3 Softshell is great stuff, feels good and stretches well, while also providing abrasion resistance. I ordered a large based on the sizing for weight, but should have stuck with my usual medium. The fit seems true to one's regular size. The pants should fit not too loose, not very snug but close-fitting. The stretch is there for ease of movement without the need for extra material. Too bad I need to return, I think they would be great pants for hiking in high country.

Stylish but functional
66 North Iceland Gola Jacket - Men's
October 18, 2007
I use this for town or after winter hike in lodge. It looks good (Euro style) and is really warm but light-weight. On evenings when you don't want to wear that same fleece you worked up a sweat in or used as a hardground pillow. True to size if fitting for a trim, athletic build. If you're bulked or buffed up, think a size larger. 66 North is always high quality.

66 North Iceland Glymur Pant - Men's
September 22, 2007
These pants are great: lightweight, breathable and waterproof tough. I use them 4 season trekking and they stay like new. 3 layer eVENT is the best I've come across. And when 66 North and Backcountry team up, you can't do better.

Great jacket, lightweight, cool cut...I just couldn't wrap around the colors available. The red is flashier than a sports car on a four wheel track.

CW-X Mesh Brief - Men's
April 17, 2007
Good support, light weight, cool and odor free, these briefs are great for hiking and traveling. A little larger brief than I prefer (I like a micro brief), but will settle for the positive as a trade-off.
