Poorly heralded treasure
The North Face SDS 1/4 Zip Pullover - Men's
April 1, 2007
I can't find an A5 SDS 1/4 zip The North Face at The North Face's own web site -- that's how much respect this terrific shirt gets. Last month I bought three 1/4 zip fleece shirts, each from a different company, and The North Face won by a mile in warmth, design and looks. A geometric (waffle) weave creates loft & suppleness which results in immediate, notable warmth against the skin. Collar design keeps the neck sheltered and the "wings" nicely placed; raglan sleeves give seamless drape at shoulder; very elegant looking even after days of use alone or inside gore-tex shells. Above all, feels luxurious without extra cost. I'm on the ocean side of the peninsula at Klipsan Beach, WA (neighborhood of Cape Disappointment) where windy 40s and coastal fog are the springtime norm -- and this shirt is pure comfort.
