OK, i am doing one of the guided Rainier things and the two guide outfits recommend different soft shell pants from the same manufacturer. one costs significantly less than the other. considering how i have already dropped a pretty penny, i decided to go with these pants. and they worked out very well. would buy again...

A tiny bit on the pricey side but all is good. They are warm and will keep you warm whether standing still or moving. Would buy again.

these are on the larger side of things - which is the point, i guess, since they are supposed to fit over all your other gear - pack excluded. comes with little tuff sack which is nice. compresses nicely to fit in pack. all around solid buy.
