how waterproof or watertight is this bag?

i am going on a month-long kayak trip in february and would hate to be SOL with a wet bag! everyone else i know is taking a synthetic bag but i love the coziness of this one and would prefer to take it than get a new synthetic one.

OR Advanced Bivy

Outdoor Research Advanced Bivy

Rating for this product: 5 December 8, 2006

I recently went on a multi-day kayaking trip in oaxaca, mexico. for most of us, this was our first time needing bivy sacks and most of us bought different models. this bivy was the most comfortable of all on the trip. because you can leave it open with the bug mesh protecting you (even in the rain), condensation was minimal -- not existant most nights. everyone else reported having their sleeping bags wet by the end of the trip - but not I! the only problem i had was that the bug mesh ripped slightly from heavy zipper use.
