The Big Agnes Insulated Sleeping Pad is my favorite
Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Sleeping Pad - Rectangular
August 24, 2008
The Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Sleeping Pad is the most comfortable sleeping pad I have ever used! It might take a couple extra breaths to inflate; however, it is well worth the effort. Blow it up, toss it down and snooze - this sleeping pad is amazing. It's comfortable, insulating and reasonably compact-able (I have the long/wide). If you are someone who never really gets a comfortable sleep on a sleeping pad, check out Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Sleeping Pad - it is going to make you very happy.

Answer to: "Will I get too warm if sleeping in warmer weather with the insulated..."
Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Sleeping Pad - Rectangular
July 31, 2008
I was wondering the same thing when I bought mine. After using the Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Sleeping Pad for summer camping in Moab, Ut multiple times, I am psyched! I think the insulation really helps keep your body at a good temperature - but it doesn't generate any noticeable heat from what I can tell. It is great in all temperatures based on my experience - just used it for two nights in Jackson Hole this weekend, and had no comfort or warmth issues - a good thing, considering there was a frost on Friday night!
A Great Tent with 2 Doors!
The North Face Moraine 23 Bx Tent 2-Person 3-Season
July 23, 2008
Since purchasing The North Face Moraine tent, I have been really psyched - the tent is easy to set up and take down, durable, well-vented and affordable. My favorite feature is the doors on either side of the tent - forget about climbing on/over the others when you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, you can get out from either side! Works great with the TNF Moraine footprint also.

Psyched on this tent
The North Face Moraine 23 Bx Tent 2-Person 3-Season
July 23, 2008
The North Face Moraine 23 Bx Tent is the first tent I've ever owned and I have been psyched ever since it arrived at my house. The Moraine 3-person is a nice, durable tent that is easy to setup and break down. With doors on either side, you don't have to climb over or around the others in the tent when trying to get in or out. Overall, a great tent - I highly recommend it. *If you are going to buy this tent, consider getting the matching footprint - I did, and it works perfectly (as I expected).

Great Pearl Izumi Runners
Pearl Izumi SyncroFloat 2 Running Shoe - Men's
July 15, 2008
I'm very happy with the Pearl Izumi SyncroFloat 2 Running Shoe - they are lightweight, supportive and fit my med/wide foot very well. I have worn these running on pavement with no issues at all - my father uses them for absolutely everything... mowing the lawn, watching the Red Sox, playing golf - he just got his third pair and is still psyched on them. A great all around shoe, these fit true to size for me. Would definitely buy them again, especially at this price.

Not just for Custodians!
Patagonia Custodian Short - Men's
July 15, 2008
The Patagonia Custodian Short is my new favorite Patagonia short - they are a good fit, durable, soft and have a nice casual cut. I have worn mine basically everyday since I got them - from Telluride to Jackson and back to work, these are my new go-to shorts. In fact, I am ordering a different color now, so I really can wear them everyday (without getting the "haven't you worn those for like 20 days in a row"). I ordered a 34 and 36 when I first got them - the 34 fits perfectly. I am 6'2" 190 lbs with a general 34ish waist.

My favorite collared shirt
Patagonia Polo Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's
July 15, 2008
I have had so many of the Patagonia Polo Shirts over the years that I've lost count; however, I have had so many because they are so comfortable and easy. The organic cotton is soft, durable and easy to wash - a HUGE plus for me. Whether you're hitting the links or at the local BBQ, the Patagonia Polo shirt is a solid choice. I am 6'2", 190 lbs and wear the Large.

Comfortable, Light and Protective
Six Six One Evo d3o Elbow Pad
July 15, 2008
The Six Six One Evo d3o Elbow Pad are comfortable, light and protective for mountain bikers of all sorts. I use (or at least bring) mine on almost every ride, cross-country, freeride, or straight downhill - they aren't too bulky to fit in the Camelbak, so why not at least bring them, right? The Six Six One Evo would also be a great elbow pad for dirt jumping or an urban assault. Overall, the Evo d3o Elbow Pad is my #1 - I don't even notice them while I am riding, and when you take a fall, they give you all the protection need - seriously, with the new d3o padding, I feel as protected as when I used to wear my old, bulky hard-shell elbow pads. Highly recommended - in fact, I think it might be time to order some of the Evo d3o knee pads!

Great Socks for Fall, Winter & Spring
Patagonia Midweight Hiking Crew Sock
June 27, 2008
The Patagonia Midweight Hiking Crew Socks are and have been my favorite socks for some time now. They are excellent for hiking, but also do a great job as an everyday sock. Take note - they are midweight, so they might feel a bit warm if you wear them on a hot summer day. The size chart is right on - go with that. They are quite durable, as I've had mine for 11 months and they show little if any signs of wear. Highly recommended!

Solid Over-Ear Headphones with Steeze
Skullcandy Ti Stereo Headphones
June 27, 2008
The SkullCandy Ti Stereo Headphones are very solid over-ear headphones that don't make you look like a total beater while wearing them in the office or on the bus. These headphones aren't just about looks though - the Ti Stereo headphones can handle any sort of music you pump through them at any volume with relative ease. I wear these in the office and they're great - they also are great noise-reducers when you wear them without music playing. I haven't found a pair of headphones that give more bang for the buck than the Ti Stereo headphones.

Hanging at the Bauhaus
Smith Bauhaus Sunglasses - Polarized
June 24, 2008
The Smith Bauhaus polarized sunglasses are great for everything - from chilling at the Bauhaus to Driving into the sunset - they cut glare and provide excellent comfort and optical clarity. I would say that for people with med-wide to wide faces, the Smith Bauhaus is a great option. They provide great coverage without looking or feeling too big and bulky. Oh yeah, they will definitely boost your steeze as well; )

My new Favorite Bike Shorts
Fox Racing Mid Ranger Bike Short - Men's
June 11, 2008
I'll admit, I got these shorts because I have never been let down by Fox Racing, the price was right and I liked the Ash color. When the shorts came, I was very impressed, as they were better than I even hoped they would be. The material is nice and light without feeling or being fragile - no problem in 90F... and when I took my first big digger, they showed no signs of damage at all. The fit is true to size around the waist, and the cut is generous; there's plenty of room for movement freeriding, yet they won't get in your way while banging out a long xc ride. Plenty of pockets for iPod, Wallet, Etc. Comfortable enough to wear around long after the ride has finished. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a do-it-all bike short.

Top-Notch MTB Shorts
Fox Racing High Frequency Bike Short - Men's
June 11, 2008
The Fox Racing High Frequency Bike Shorts are the highest quality shorts I've owned. Yes, there are cheaper shorts out there; however, I found that by spending a few more dollars, I got a much better (trim) fit from the High Frequency bike shorts than other shorts I've had in the past. The fit is key for me when I'm considering bike shorts with built-in chamois liner... when the cut is right (as it is in the H.F.) the chamois is very comfortable and protective on long rides. They are cut longer to keep them from riding up, but I wouldn't call them baggy, especially compared to Fox Racing's Mid-Ranger shorts. I have worn them on all types of mtb rides and am still pumped that I made the choice to spend a couple extra dollars.

Awesome do-it-all Mountain Bike Glove
Fox Racing Digit Bike Glove - Men's
June 11, 2008
This is my second pair of Digit gloves from Fox Racing - the first pair made it through almost 3 seasons, so it was time to re-up. I am stoked I stuck with the Digits because they have excellent grip, breathe very well (even in the heat of Utah summers), are super comfortable and very durable. I use these for everything from XC rides to downhill shuttle runs and wouldn't want anything else covering my hands. The size chart is accurate - I measured my hands, checked the chart and the gloves fit just right.

Super Shades
Smith Super Method Sunglasses - Polarized
June 11, 2008
Excellent glasses all-around! I highly recommend them to anyone looking for polarized glasses that can be worn for virtually everything with no problem. The polarized lenses' optical quality is top-notch - great for days on the water, driving or riding your bike. The Super Methods are lightweight and quite durable - I haven't had issues with them slipping off - add some Croakies and you'll never have to worry. The fit is what I would describe as med to med-wide and the coverage is generous.

Awesome Fleece for Everything
Arc'teryx Covert Hoody Jacket - Men's
June 11, 2008
From hanging out around the house to layering for an adventure into the backcountry, the Covert Hoody is my go-to. It is extremely soft and warm - the bonus is the fact that it has a hood that always comes in handy. I am 6'2", 190 and wear a Large - keep in mind that the Covert Hoody is cut right at the belt line, so if you're between sizes, consider going with the larger size.

Just what I needed - Simple, Quality Gloves
Fox Racing Attack Bike Glove - Men's
June 11, 2008
I was super-stoked when I got these gloves - they were just what I wanted! Simple, lightweight, durable and comfortable. These are my go-to dirtjump gloves, because they give me great grip and fit snugly. While I use my Fox Racing Digits for most long or gnarly rides, I always have my Attacks in my Camelbak for backup. For buzzing a quick singletrack loop or sessioning the park with friends, the Fox Racing Attack gloves are perfect. The elastic wristband has been great and has yet to stretch-out too much - no worries there. The size chart is right on point, so just measure accurately and you'll be all set.

The Best way to carry bikes in your truck
DAKINE Pick-Up Pad
June 11, 2008
Since getting my Dakine Pick-Up Pad, I have been 100% stoked with the decision. It easy to load and unload bikes, and I've fit 7 Freeride/Downhill bikes without any issues. The Pick-Up Pad attaches easily and securely - there's nothing to worry about once the bikes are loaded up - the truck's gate won't get scratched and neither will your bike. I got the Large version for my Toyota Tundra and it fits perfect - my roommate got the smaller size for his Tacoma and it is perfect. Forget about rigging up your techy bike rack - you'll be much happier once you're rocking the Dakine Pick-Up Pad.

Crank Brothers Egg Beater Mxr Pedals
May 2, 2008
For these pedals, you'll need some clipless-compatible shoes like the Shimano America SH-M122 Mountain Bike Shoe. These pedals come with the cleats to screw into the bottom of your shoes, so nothing to worry about there.
