I won't take these off!
The North Face Purna Clog - Womens
November 7, 2003
I am a sucker for shoes that I can just slip on and off easily, and the Purnas are my new favorites. They are really comfortable and wear in quickly, creating a cushy and warm shoe for me to wear all winter long. I typically wear an 8 1/2 and maybe would have liked these a bit bigger.

Great bag
Big Agnes Lost Ranger Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down
August 11, 2003
I slept very well in this bag--it was really comfortable and warm and perfect for backpacking. The only thing that I didn't care for was the size of the hood--it was a bit small and made me feel a little claustrophobic. Other than that, a great bag.

Great sporty hat
Marmot Precip Safari Hat
July 2, 2003
I bought this hat for an extended spring camping trip and have been using it more than ever this summer while outside. No wrinkles on this skin! It has great coverage for my face and a super comfortable fit. I have gotten many compliments on it as well!

A believer
Marmot Vapor Zip Short Sleeve - Womens
July 2, 2003
I was a little skeptical of the claims in the description--how could I be dry after a 6 mile run? But after testing it out, I am now a believer. This shirt is amazing for keeping me comfortable while exercising. The cut is also great. Hands down better than my old cotton tees.

Marmot Midweight Zip LS - Mens
July 2, 2003
Marmot certainly hit the nail on the head with this one--these shirts (yes, I have 3) are super soft and are the perfect base layer in the winter and do quite well on their own in the warmer months too.

This ain't your Mom's Fanny pack
Marmot Walkabout Lumbar Pack
July 2, 2003
Let's face it. Fanny packs have gotten a bad rap for years--but this pack changes everything. With enough room for an extra layer and some snacks, this pack is the perfect accompaniment for a day on the trail. I tend to get pretty sweaty and this pack allows my back to keep dry. Also no cumbersome arm straps to fiddle with.

great versatile shirt
Marmot DriClime Windshirt - Women's
June 30, 2003
I didn't know when purchasing this shirt how often I would actually wear it—but it is perfect for most everything I do! Skiing, backpacking, running—it works for everything. I find the elastic on the wrist to be a bit tighter than I would like it, but that could just be me—all in all a fabulous piece of clothing.

CamelBak FlashFlo
June 30, 2003
I have used by CamelBak Classic for years and recently purchased the FlashFlo. For hiking and running, this is the way to go. I like it because my back doesn't get all sweaty, and the bladder is big enough to keep me hydrated for a good couple hours (plus a nice pocket for a snack). I also like how it is around my waist—I don't have to constantly adjust the straps on my arms like I did with the classic.

Bomber shirt
The North Face Tek Tee - Mens
June 27, 2003
As one of the sweatiest guys around, I put this shirt to the test. I wore it biking on one of the hottest days of the year so far, and it did the job. Really comfortable material too--well worth the money.

Miracle Shirt for running
The North Face Velocity Tek Tee - Womens -2003 Model
June 27, 2003
This shirt is absolutely dreamy! I have used various high performance shirts over the years, and this one takes the cake. I don't feel as though I am ever sweaty in this shirt--even when I am really pushing it. And it's cute too--which is always an added bonus!

Sweatin' Up a Storm
The North Face Velocity Tek Tee - Womens -2003 Model
June 27, 2003
One of my favorite shirts. I love the zipper pocket in the back-perfect for storing a snack for on the trail. The material is super soft and the wicking features are nothing short of amazing. I never feel sweaty in this shirt. The cut is also great--totally cut for a woman so you don't feel like you are working out in a baggy t-shirt!

Great Shades for Sports
Oakley Nanowire 1.0 Sunglasses
June 26, 2003
I really like these sunglasses as they are perfect for wearing during activities (running, biking, etc). The frames wrap a little more behind the ear which secures them in place. I also don't take the best care of my sunglasses--they seldom are in the case--and after 8 months of this abuse they don't have a single scratch. I have a medium sized face and they are the perfect fit.

Good short for Backpacking
The North Face A5 Corrie Short - Womens
June 26, 2003
Like the other review I tend to like shorts that sit low on the hip, but for backpacking I would rather have a sold short with tough material like this one. These shorts have great pockets and are have a nice cut for hiking. I plan on wearing these on all my trips this summer.

Good pack for quick trips
Gregory Forester Backpack - 4700 cu in
June 25, 2003
I used this pack on a recent weekend backpacking trip and found it was the perfect size to hold all the essentials for a couple days out in the woods. It was sturdy and I really loved the see-through paneling that the top pouch featured. Really easy to find my headlamp, matches etc. The only thing it lacked for me were multiple external pockets--this was ok for a weekend trip, but the limited organizational pockets would not have worked for me if I was out for longer.

Leatherman Super Tool 200
May 23, 2003
I use this all the time--both on backpacking trips but also around the house! I really like the fact that all the tools stay in place while I am using them, which has saved me from some injuries more than once!

The North Face Performance Tank - Womens
March 5, 2003
This tank gives me everything I want--a soft comfortable cut that stays dry even when I am working hard. Many shirts like this tend to be either too loose or too tight--this one is right on the money.

Goodbye Adidas! Hello Salomon!
Salomon Flagstaff Shoe - Women's
March 5, 2003
I have been an Adidas sneaker fan for years, and I was surprised to find how well these shoes performed. I felt like they were extremely stable (I run mostly on trails around my house) and comfortable at the same time. The first day I used them it was fairly wet outside, and they prevented me from slipping, so the traction definitely helped keep me on course!
