Slick, but a bit short Sz Large
Dale of Norway Totten Jacket - Men's
October 24, 2008
An excellent jacket that turns heads everywhere I go. It's deceptively warm, as the jacket itself isn't as thick as I thought it would be. The length of sleeves fits my monkey arms, due to the added length of the thumb sleeves (light stretchy material that covers your wrist just up to your knuckles and has a thumb hole so your sleeves don't ride up your arm as you're moving about). I normally just have them bunched up on my wrist which keeps them warm when walking around town. I have 36" sleeves in a dress shirt. Only complaint is that the front of the jacket is a bit short. The back has a tail that covers the top of my butt, however the front is just below the belt. Unless you're wearing bibbed snow pants, you'll likely get a fair bit of snow up your jacket even if you're just plowing through powder (or if you bail of course!). All in all, a fantastic jacket that does what it's supposed to do, looks gorgeous (have the red), and can stand up to most of a canadian winter.

Big Agnes Moon Hill Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down w/ Mummy Pad
August 10, 2008
The bag itself delivers on all fronts. Like many quality down products, it doesn't seem like there's enough fill to actually keep you warm. After a few minutes in the bag, you're as toasty as you could ask for. My only gripe is that it is not for anyone with large shoulders. Once zipped in, I cannot move in the bag at all. I also have to squish myself into the bottom of the bag just to get it zipped all the way up. Great for staying warm, not so great for people that toss or like to sleep on their side. I do have broad shoulders, but wouldn't consider myself oversized.

Great Jacket, No Skirt
Outdoor Research Mentor Jacket - Men's
July 17, 2008
Waistline cinch does not equal a powder skirt. I'll be reading more than the tech specs from now on. Other than that, the jacket is a fantastic deal. Particularly when it shows up on SAC.

Optimus Terra Cookset
April 20, 2008
how hard is it to clean? some stews can make a nasty mess of the bottom of the pans... Not to mention cleaning in a fresh spring stream can be a little trying on the hands. I'd rather not be spending 20 mins scrubbing the thing to get it clean.
