Another comment on safety and the "hard hat"
Bern Macon Helmet
August 27, 2008
I have the baker in the hard hat version on purpose. I don't know about you but I'd like my helmet to last more than a single impact. And while I luckily haven't had a hard one to my noggin, its good to know I won't have to purchase another because my helmet might crack (certified ones are supposed to) over a small impact and thus render it completely unusable. I believe it is because the foam will re-expand and that the shell doesn't fracture as easy that makes it a "hard hat" rather than a helmet. But they have safety warnings about this and don't try and cover this up. I've been completely satisfied with my helmet.
