Sweet vest But . .

Outdoor Research Helios Sun Hat

Rating for this product: 5 March 26, 2008

I love vests and this one is beautiful, very light and well made. I was looking for a new one to wear when I'm not wearing my old The orth Face. I am 6'2", 120lbs. Not huge upper body. But the vest felt a little constricting to me under the arm-pits so, I'm sorry to say, I had to return it. If it had fit me better I would have worn in constantly so give it a try. Too bad for me.

Outdoor Research Helios Sun Hat

Still have to wear this hat out in the sun but its very well built OR quality. Seems nice and light and has good wide brim and the XL fits my huge noggin. Sweet.

Great Vest - small arm openings

Outdoor Research Fraction Vest - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 5, 2008

I loved this vest when I opened up the package from this site. Usual OR quality gear. Only trouble is the arm openings were a little tight. I'm not the beefiest guy, but I found the vest a little too restricting - tight under the arm-pits. Had to return. Too bad.

Super comfy and snug.

MontBell America, Inc. U.L. Super Stretch Hugger #0 Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 5 August 28, 2007

Stretch works great - just like advertised. Lets me stretch out my hips while in the bag. I got the bag for summer in the Arctic but decided to give it a go in the Rockies this August. It was too warm for my summer trip so I had to sleep in my skivvies with the zipper half open most of the time. Great product.

Outdoor Research Helium Awning Shelter

Rating for this product: 3 July 9, 2007

Don't know why tarps are so expensive. This tarp would be great but for the fact that the center loop/attaching point ripped off on the very first erection. It was a little windy but all the other attaching points held out through much worse later on. I found out the same thing had happened to the same tarp someone else I know had. Shame this one design flaw spoils an otherwise great product.

Light but soft

Smith Commander Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 3 July 9, 2007

I loved these glasses when I got them. Fit by big head well and had nice polarized lenses. Unfortunately the coating is much too soft and, despite taking as much care as possible, every time I turned around I found a new scratch or mark on the coating. Might be good for in-active occupations but hopeless for backpacking.
