Life has me in Chicago for the time being. Spend most of my outdoor time on my mountain and road bikes. Enjoy camping in the area also. The skiing mostly happens in CO and CA. That's my buddy Tor in the pic.

Great Layer
Backcountry.com Rime Pullover Jacket - Men's
November 8, 2008
This jacket does it all. I pretty much wear it everyday. Works as a great lightweight jacket when it is cool out or as a layer under a more substantial shell. Blocks wind, water resistant, and breathes well. It has an athletic fit so I had to return my usual L size and get an XL. As usual, Backcountry got me my exchange in no time.

Great Softshell
Outdoor Research Motiva Jacket - Women's
November 8, 2008
Gobbled up this jacket for my girlfriend for a great price. She is thrilled with it. It performs as you expect a serious softshell to. The detachable hood is a great feature that is rare for a jacket like this from my searching. Makes it more versatile for different conditions. It also has a nice cut that fits a woman's body :)

Warm but not bulky
Mountain Hardwear Micro Dome Beanie
October 24, 2008
I was surprised at how thin this beanie was which is great because it's still very warm. It fits under my hood or ski helmet for those really cold days. Stays very soft after everyday use and cleans up nicely in the washing machine.

Everything you need...nothing you don't
CamelBak Snoblast Hydration Pack
October 24, 2008
This is a great pack for a one day ski trip. It's a great size bag to hold everything you'll need before you make it back to your car at the end of the day. Holds plenty of water and an extra layer. If you're like me and tend to stray out of bounds at the edge of the resort you'll be happy you had room for your lunch in there too while you try to figure out how to get back inbounds. The ski loops work pretty well too so you don't have to carry your sticks "bundle o' wood syle." If you need more gear just expand the bag. Great piece of gear!

Good product in a small package
Swix Alpine Wax Kit
March 18, 2008
I picked this up for a great deal. If you don't have any tuning/waxing gear yet then this kit is a good place to start. It's also great if you want a tuning kit that's easy for traveling. Overall, they aren't the highest quality tuning tools but this small package will get the job done.

SmartWool Adrenaline Mid Crew Hiking Sock
March 18, 2008
These socks manage moisture so well. I was surprised at how well they supported my foot too. They kept my feet warm when I needed them too and didn't allow my feet to overheat when the weather got warm. The only reason reason I'm not giving them a five is that I wish they were a little less pricey....but if you spring for them I doubt you'll be disappointed.
