Chariot Carriers Inc CX1 Stroller

Rating for this product: 5 October 19, 2006

My wife was getting all this baby junk so I had to get something I could get excited about. This is an expensive stroller, but once I opened the box and pulled it out, I was like "Holy Cow, this thing is nicer than my car." And I drive a BMW. First day home from the hospital we pushed the kid 3 miles (he was in the Infant Sling accessory). Stroller works great, smooth as silk and absolutely silent when using the jogging front wheel and riding on nice asphalt. Zip off side windows, pockets for stuff all over the place, you can flip the handle for tall or short parents, or take it off for biking. I put a bicycle computer on it too see how far and fast we walk/run. You can easily mount the sensor on the arm for the rear drum brake. To make it perfect it needs curtains on the sides and top when the sun is really intense (we just drape a towel on top). Also, the bike hitch arm is made such that the trailer tracks off to the left of center. I'd like it better centered, but I think they just use the same arm for both the one and two person strollers. All in all I couldn't be more pleased and this is coming from a person who thinks most stuff is crap.

Very happy with Switch 40+5

Osprey Packs Switch 40+5 - 2500 cu in

One of the reasons I bought this pack was that it was about the biggest thing I could get away with carrying on an airplane and it has a lot of pockets. For this use the pack worked okay, but not really that much better than other stuff I have tried. However, after using it during the winter while backcountry skiing and mountaineering, it is the best pack I have ever used. Loading through the back panel is great because you can flop your pack down in the snow and you can get to your stuff while the straps and back panel stay nice and dry. The pack also has enough stiffness to hold a good shape when you have snowshoes or whatever hanging off the back. I also like the tapered bottom because it doesn't catch on things when you are climbing down over rock ledges. Pack actually works okay in summer too. I just put sleeping bag and hammock in rear pocket because they are light and stay out of way while heavy stuff goes close to my back. Pockets on hip belt are first for me and I really, really like them.
