Decent basic compass and the mirror sighting is a plus for a value compass.

This pack promises to be great, but doesn't live up to high expectations. It isn't as well made as other Osprey packs and the detachable daypack is just too small to be very useful. Returned and picked up the Osprey Meridian 28. The wheels of the Meridian add a little weight, but add some more travel transport ease.

Best light I have ever used in every way. Not too heavy for the head, amazing battery life, EXTREMELY bright for any light and very impressive considering it is an LED. Highly recommended is you want a stellar light and not ULTRA expensive.

This shirt was perfect for my week in the Amazon. Light and cool fabric that did an amazing job of repelling all the biting pests. Stayed smelling decent despite the humid muggy temps. Highly recommended!!!

I wore a couple pairs of these socks exclusively on a week long trek in Peru and a week long rainforest excursion and never suffered any bites at all. The BUZZ OFF stuff works wonders, as I was the only one of my party not to be suffering. Now if I would have only brought BUZZ OFF gloves I wouldn't have gotten any bites at all!

Instead of worrying about reapplying bug repellent to my neck area, I used this bandana wrapped around my hat and hanging down covering the back of my neck. It served two important purposes, 1) protecting my skin from bug bites and 2) shielding my neck from sunburn. Handy to use as a backcountry handkerchief or cloth, as well.

This is a truly minimalist jacket and performs extremely well in even a torrential rain except that it doesn't have a way to secure the sleeves down. I was on a boat in the Amazon during the hardest rainstorm I have ever encountered, and while my upper body was dry the water was able to get my lower arms soaked because the sleeves just have a little elastic instead of a velcro closure. I don't care about pit-zips because why would I want that ventilation when it is raining? If it isn't raining and I need extra breathability I take the jacket off! Maybe I shouldn't have cared about the few additional ounces and gotten the Foray model instead...tough call.

If you want to be ultralight, this is the way to go. Great to use as a poncho and backpack rain cover in one as it is large enough to fit over your pack when worn and still cover down around my shins. Also works great as a shelter with a pole or twine tied to trees. It is extremely water-resistant, too.

Great quality basic hex wrench set that always get the job done.

Super warm and comfy...If it is too big at first, just wash on gentle and dry on low to shrink to desired size :)

These are awesome gloves for backcountry touring. Breathe well while keeping your hands warm and dry for aerobic winter pursuits. They also have nice leather palms with an abrasion resistant insert on the index finger and thumb areas. They do run a bit large, though, so I recommend getting them a size smaller than your usual size. I typically wear a medium glove and the small is my correct size.

This is a superlight and compact pad for backpacking adventures. The key with this pad is to only fill it about half full with air to ensure comfort. If you fill it more than that you will tend to roll off and it doesn't conform to your body. It isn't a great insulating mattress pad, so only for warmer temps or you can put a closed cell foam pad underneath for additional insulation. Works great with the pad sleeve on all Big Agnes tents.

This is the ideal mountaineering boot for narrow feet. Be aware that La Sportiva shoes and boots typically fit small, and this is no exception, so order it a half size larger than normal.

Although this is probably designed primarily for running, this is my ideal southern desert backpacking shirt. The wicking material is great for hot days and can act as a cover to prevent burning. The hood is good for keeping ears and head warm when tucked into a sleeping bag after the sun and temps drop. Day or night, this is my versatile do it all long sleeve shirt.

Best shoe for wearing up to the mountain and afterwards. Quick to get on and off, comfortable, warm, and has a good tread and high enough to keep snow out. Perfect pick!

These are great, highly durable liner socks that also add some warmth for cold temps. The only complaint is that I would like to find some longer liner socks for skiing.

These are the perfect weight for warm wool ski socks. Not too heavy that they bunch up inside your boots and not too light that they don't offer much warmth on cold days. I love these socks and have a few pairs for those 6-day ski weeks...!!!

This liner is a great addition to any helmet. It keeps your head warmer, wicks sweat when warm, and makes you helmet fight nice and snug. I also wear it under my bike helmet on cold days for warmth and to keep the sweat out of my eyes. Highly recommended!!!

This are slick and a great savings over the custom heat molded insoles for ski boots at expensive outfitters. I bought these being a little skeptical, but I needed something to support my high arches that were getting cramped during skiing. These have totally solved my issues and make my boots feel so much more comfortable...they feel better than new! Just pop them in the oven at 225F and then stick them in your boots, followed by your feet, and you have custom footbeds! Awesome! Buying several more as presents for skiers...

These are a great product. Not so much a liner, as they are more of a power stretch softshell material, but they are my casual gloves around town on cold winter days and nights. Love the grip goat pattern on the palms, too.

This is a great breathable softshell for high aerobic activities in the cold...I was very pleased at the quality of the materials and worksmanship in a product so reasonably priced. I will be wearing this mountain biking, running, and cross-country skiing this winter. Should get lots of use!

Great headsweats brand helmet liner to wick sweat and provide a more comfortable helmet wearing experience. I am very happy with this Goat branded product!

I've been skiing these for about a month with an AT setup, and they've handled everything I have yet to tear into...float through powder (31" of new stuff today at Alta), blast through crud, and carve up the groomers...gotta love the versatility.
