How tight should this shirt fit. I am between a small and a medium. Does it run big or small or just right Goldilocks style?

Ahwahnee Tent
Black Diamond Ahwahnee Tent 2-Person 4-Season
October 7, 2007
Awesome tent, I like it better than the Fitzroy. It is easier to set up with only 2.5 poles. It is not quite as wide but wide enough. This tent sets up easily without any difficulty. Waterproof and leak proof. I experienced no condensation on the inside with the todd X material. Having both doors to open is terrific for warm weather camping and it works great in the really cold temps as well. Bibler makes the best single wall tents bar none! I love this tent. It is the best tent I have ever owned in 40 years of camping. I have experience with many different tents during that time.

This shoe never fit well and I could never get comfortable in it. Even after repeated wearing it never really felt broken in all the way.

Firstlight terrific
Black Diamond Firstlight Tent 2-Person 3-Season
June 26, 2007
This tent is super light and super easy to set up. With a little practice you can literally have it up in about a minute or less. I took this tent on a kayaking trip. It fit the kayak storage port without any problems. It held up well in a few thunder showers and it was quite comfortable on a warm stuffy night. The hook and loop closure pole fasteners are easier than the clips in my Bibler. I much prefer the hook and loop closure. This tent is the one I will use most often.

lighthouse Rocks
Black Diamond Lighthouse Tent 2-Person 3-Season
June 26, 2007
I Bought this tent for my son who is involved in scouting. He is 13 and has no problem setting this tent up. He can pitch this tent in 2 to 3 minutes tops. It was spacious enough for him and a buddy. It held up quite well in some pretty nasty thunderstorms and it did not get too stuffy on a warm humid night. My son indicated he got it dirty and would need to wash it off when we got home. This was not a problem as the dirt just seemed to roll off the fabric. This tent packs down very small a nice feature when space is an issue. I am very pleased with this tent. I don't think I could find a simpler tent for my son and a quality one at that!

Marmot CWM
Marmot CWM EQ Sleeping Bag: -40 Degree Down
March 17, 2007
I have owned this sleeping bag for two years. It is one exceptionally warm bag. Loft is super. The hood really keeps the heat in well. Pull cords some times annoy. They need to be shifted from time to time.Developed a small rip in one of the seams. Needed to have it repaired at a local shop. Almost impossible to stuff into sack provided by marmot. Needed to get a bigger one!

GSI Frying Pan
GSI Outdoor Camp HAE Frypan - 14 in
February 5, 2007
This pan is great. I have owned one for years. I just bought two for my scout troop. They work well for preparing large quantities of grub. My wife uses it at home from time to time when a large frying pan is needed. We get double duty out of this pan. The coating makes it real easy to clean and the take apart handle works well for storage and taking up space. I rarely use the handle attached.I love this pan. The scouts like it when they are patrol cooking.

Helium EQ
Marmot Helium EQ Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down
January 21, 2007
I bought this bag for my son who is a boy scout. He loves this bag. The EQ material is great for preventing it from getting wet when two or more scouts are in a tent and condensation builds up. This is the primary reason I went with th EQ as opposed to the regular helium. The EQ has a longer zipper and weighs a bit more than the Regular Helium which does not seem to be a major problem. If you don't need the EQ fabric go with the helium. The EQ packs down real small as it takes up little space in a pack. The Heliums are terrific bags. They can't be beat. Worth their hefty price. If you own the Helium and the Marmot CWM you should be able to cover just about all conditions except real warm weather. The Marmot Atom fill this void. Marmot make a super bag. I will not buy any other bags.

Great Bag
Marmot Couloir Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down DO NOT USE
November 14, 2006
This sleeping is terrific. With the temperature below 20-degrees it kept me plenty warm. When the temps rose to the high 40's I did not over heat. The hood helps keep one warm during real cold temps. It packs down quite small. Small enough to fit in the bottom compartment of my Dana Terraplane. Color is cheery as well. This was an excellent purchase. My only negative is the stuff sack. Marmot needs to improve the quality of their stuff sacks on these technical bags. If it holds up as well as my other Marmot bags I should be able to pass it down to my son some day!

Prolite 4
Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad
June 15, 2006
This is an all around great sleeping pad. A little bigger than the Prolite 3 but more spacious, and a little more comfy as well. If a little more size is not an issue, go with the 4. It is just a bit thicker and two to three inches longer. For me, most Thermarest pads need a little more air blown into them. The new design tops the old line in terms of weight and volume by leaps and bounds.

Marmot Helium
Marmot Helium Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down
May 5, 2006
This sleeping bag is a great, warm, and lightweight bag. It stuffs down to almost nothing (about the size of a loaf of bread). The 850 down stays fluffy even after being stuffed over an extended period of time. The short zipper is long enough and helps save weight. It was warm down to 30F. (I'm a cold sleeper.) The only disappointment is the stuff sack supplied my Marmot. Marmot makes such great bags but their stuff sacks do not live up to the Marmot name. I bought a good quality compression sack for this great bag!

Helium Bag Terrific
Marmot Helium Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down
April 24, 2006
The Helium Sleeping Bag is a great lightweight sleeping bag. It was warm at 20F. It packs really small; down to bread loaf size. Its short zipper is plenty long enough and helps cut down on weight. It offers enough room inside and the hood and draft collar are comfortable. The loft is great. The 900-weight down is worth the price. Its insulation qualities are flawless. It is a wee bit difficult to stuff in the sack Marmot includes. I will upgrade to a better quality compression sack, but this is a very minor criticism. Marmot needs to include a better quality stuff sack for their great bags.

Up Date Bibler Fitzroy
Black Diamond Fitzroy Tent 3-Person 4-Season
February 8, 2006
Had an opportunity to use the Fitzroy on a rainy camping trip. It held up beautifully. No leaks and no seepage to the inside. After using the Fitzroy about ten times it appears to be a great four season tent. It didn't have any problem with condensation buildup on the inside, either. This tent is a keeper.

Oakley half jacket
Oakley Half Jacket Sunglasses - Polarized
November 16, 2005
These glasses are great. The fit is extremely comfortable. The clarity is phenomenal. They make everything so clear. They do not slide down your nose as perspiration begins to build up. The best thing is you can buy other lenses for different light conditions.

Oakley Half Pints
Oakley Halfpint Youth Sunglasses
November 16, 2005
My son likes these sunglasses very much. They fit well and don't slide off his head. He says they shade well in bright sun and keep the glare down. My wife tried them since they fit her as well. She indicated they fit her small face quite nicely and did a good job in the sun.

Gigapower stove/titanium
Snow Peak GigaPower Stove, Titanium Manual Ignition
January 31, 2005
This stove is super light. Stores easily in a nifty little case that is supplied. It lights easily and throws off good heat. We also purchased the wind shield. This stove boils water quickly. We used the snow peak pot/mug with lid and were able to boil water in a very short period of time. Simple to operate. Bought it for my son who is just entering Boy Scouts. Perfect for him!

Marmot Ulitmate glove
Marmot Ultimate Ski Glove - Unisex
December 22, 2004
I am on my third pair of these Ultimate Ski Gloves. I've owned them for a number of years. They're warm but not as warm as the Randonee glove by Marmot. I think the leather makes them a bit colder. The biggest difficulty is that over time they split on the finger seams. not a major problem. With Marmot's "For Life" warranty they replace them for you. The leather palm dries out after time. I recommend the Randonee glove over these.

Bibler Fitzroy
Black Diamond Fitzroy Tent 3-Person 4-Season
November 22, 2004
This tent is fairly easy to set-up just do it at home before taking it on a camping trip. Having to seam seal a tent as expensive as this one is a bit disappointing. But if it keeps it waterproof I guess it is worth it. A bit small for two large adults. My son and I found it snug and he is only ten years old. It did not build up any condensation with both ends slightly vented and a pack towel hanging from one of the poles. Did not get a chance to test it in a downpour. That will be the ultimate test. I will up date when I'm out in a rain storm!

marmot CWM
Marmot CWM EQ Sleeping Bag: Minus 40 Degree Down
November 16, 2004
This bag is toasty warm. No complaints about staying warm in this bag. The down stays put and keeps you warm all over. The foot area is especially warm with its extra protection. The only negative is it is difficult to stuff into the stuff sack. It is almost impossible.
