Good Headlamp, shorter battery life than advertised
Black Diamond Zenix IQ Headlamp
May 10, 2007
This is a great headlamp, the dual lenses are awesome. The lower lens is great in the tent when reading or just sitting around. The high light lens is great at night, for an LED it is great. The only draw back is that the battery life isn't great with the high light lens, I've been left without light twice because the batteries were dead.

What happened to snowboarding?
Ally Distribution Finger On Da Trigger's State Of Mind Snowboard Movie
October 13, 2006
I got this movie a couple days ago and thought it was a free sample. I came on here to check out the new MDP films and noticed this was selling for 27 bucks. I can't believe how far snowboarding's strayed. When I got into it every segment had some punk band like pulley and unwritten law. It seems like riding's gone from being crazy punk kids to being straight wanna-be thugs. I think I counted at least 4 different segments with a lame "I drink 40s like a gangsta" piece. Wow. Lame. I guess I shouldn't of expected much from a production company named "Finger On Da Trigger". Oh.. There are a couple good segments with some actual snowboarding involved.

Solar Powered?
Paha Que Power Shower
June 21, 2006
I purchased this as a gift for my father in-law, not only does the water never get warm, it’s not really solar powered. Putting a dark colored object in the sun to gather heat doesn't sound like being "solar powered" to me, maybe I assumed too much. Also, the description mentions a backup heater as though it came with one. It doesn't. Comes with a wall plug to charge battery. Other than all this, it sprays well and is easy to fill.

best shorst ever.
Volcom Unlisted 2 Short - Men's
March 3, 2006
I've owned three pairs of these shorts over the last 2-3 years. They always tear around the rear pockets after heavy wear but every pair of shorts/pants is bound to do that. They are the most comfortable shorts I’ve ever owned.

Volcom Scout Messenger Bag
January 11, 2006
Great bag. It has a lot of pockets and very sturdy construction. I love the bag but the color honestly threw me off. In the picture it has a lot of a gray color, but it’s no where on the actual product. It looks a lot more like standard dark camo bag. Awesome product. Would recommend to anyone looking for a canvas messenger bag.

Huge
Smith Bauhaus Sunglasses - Polarized
November 8, 2005
These shades are giant. I love them though, there is nothing better than a huge polarized lens over your eye. Definitely recommend them for casual wear as well as some fly fishing or water use in general.

little narrow
KR3W Flush Belt
October 27, 2005
I love the belt, but it is a little narrower than it appears in the picture, beware. Another thing to look out for is if you are a solid 36, this belt is a little snug. I’m a 36 and it only goes to the second hole. Great looking belt though, the buckle is smooth for sure.

Smaller than they look
Spy Griffin Sunglasses
April 28, 2005
These glasses would be great for someone who has a medium face. I have a larger face and needed something a little bigger to make my slightly larger than normal head look smaller, I also bought the clear mustard which has a creamy look to it in the picture but when I received them they are definitely not cream-mustard, they are see-through honey is how I would describe them, but they are comfy and a stylish shade. If you have a medium face these are for you.

These pants are mad comfy. I’ve owned a pair for 3 years that aren't ready to be retired yet. Can't wait to see if the Volcom Ergo jeans show up here, there’s a comfy jean right there.

Nuptse With a Hood.
The North Face Prism Optimus Jacket - Men's
December 28, 2004
This jacket is one of the warmest down jacket I've had the pleasure to own. My favorite part of the jacket is the hood, it is a primaloft hood, which means it insulates like a down filled hood but can resist some water like a synthetic sleeping bag. It also rolls into the collar, but is a bit bulky; I recommend just leaving it out. Great jacket all together. Fits small, size one up for a baggier fit.

A little too short
Burton Fish Snowboard
October 30, 2004
The fish is designed to minimize the only bad thing about riding a snowboard in powder, having to put your weight on your back foot for the duration of your glorious powder day, we all know that by the end of the day your leg is starting to spasm and you can barely walk on the damn thing. The other thing that Burton has tried to deal with is the other unfortunate part of pow riding, you usually have to have a board that dwarves you, something in the upper 160s or even 170s, well we all know that having to pack a board that long around the mountain isn't exactly cake, so Burton in their infinite wisdom have shortened the board down to a 156 and a 160. I recently took the 156 up to Alta (take that you damn skiers) for some pre-season pow riding, I have to admit I probably would have enjoyed it more if I had the 160, the 156 might have been a little short for a 6' 180-190 guy like myself. The reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because I actually put the nose down a few times, admittedly I was going slow and it was a pretty mellow slope. Its definitely a great innovation from Burton, and I'm glad that some one out there is still making a tapered design. All we need now is a Winterstick swallow tail...

Function Adds To Style
Burton Ronin Flight Pant - Mens
October 10, 2004
These pants are sick, they look good and they do their job damn well. I like to mix up my riding style all the time, one day we'll hike outta bounds and one day I'll be in the park (just can't help it). Pretty much any pant does well in the park, there isn't much stress put on the fabric, unless you are sitting down the whole time, but its hard to find a pant that looks good and can perform outta bounds. Burton is killing it this year.

Stiff As Hell
Burton Driver X Snowboard Boot - Mens
October 10, 2004
These boots are definitely for the aggressive rider, no questions asked. The first day I had them out I could barely walk because my calves were like play doh, but they are supportive. There is one feature that drove me crazy before I just flat took them off, the ice spikes that come with the boot. These damn things even when they are put away will scratch the hell out of your top sheet getting off the lift. The one good thing about the ice spikes is that if you are hiking out of bounds they do give you great traction, oh and they are removable. If you are looking for a stiff as hell ski boot feeling snowboard boot this is your deal. I would recommend them to anyone who's screaming around the mountain mach 9.

Freestyle-Midstiffs
Burton Cartel Snowboard Binding
October 6, 2004
These bindings have everything for the freestyler who likes to throw down in the park but still have the response of a short fiberglass/nylon baseplate for going to the backcountry to hit some steep and deeps with the occasional booter. The new feature this year from burton is the capstrap, this little guy is one of the bigger innovations to come with the binding, it relaxes some of the pressure you have to put on the ankle strap to push the boot back into the binding, it also relaxes the pressure you put on the tops of your toes by spreading the pressure out over the entire front of your foot. They are also light as hell, I would definitely put them up against the P1s or the P1 carbons. These bindings are the shit.

Nothing Better Than Tux Shoe Boots
Burton SL-7 Snowboard Boot - Mens
September 22, 2004
These things are the lightest and most supportive (for their weight) on the market. Burton has really stepped it up this year with both their boots and their bindings. Their boots have gotten nothing but lighter and stiffer, which if you are like me and enjoy feeling like the board is welded to the bottom of your feet there is nothing better. My set up is all Burton, anything that is important or touches the ground is made by them. Board, boots, bindings. Make the right decision, go Burton.

snow skate
Burton Junkyard Snowdeck
August 18, 2004
I would say that this snowskate definitely surpassed all of the snowskates I've rode in the past. The tip and tail of the subdeck provide enough snap off of the upper deck that you can actually get the board off the ground. It's also super stable, very easy to get the hang of keeping the thing in control.

Stylish Shades
Spy Glace Sunglasses
August 16, 2004
Not performance driven but definitely a sick pair of stylish shades. They are heavier than most sunglasses but when you look at them they aren't designed to be light. Love the squarer frame with the darker lens. Look out the grey lenses make it seem like its a cloudy day out.
