Great stuff
Katadyn Klean Foaming Hand Sanitizer
March 21, 2008
This stuff is great. It is as effective as any of the other sanitizers but does not use alcohol and has no smell. Also it is very light weight (it’s not a gel). Best hand sanitizer I have used.

Answer to: "Would these work with a backcountry ski boot?Alex"
Black Diamond Contact Strap Crampon
March 17, 2008
You could, but you would be better off with the Neve Pro Crampons. Step in crampons are easier to use with ski boots.
Nice Bivy
Black Diamond Bipod Bivy Bag
October 2, 2006
This is the first bivy that I have owned and as expected the Bibler quality is there. Seam taped, light weight, absolute bomber construction. My only complaint is that the girth at the shoulders seems tight. I am 6.0 and 180lbs and there was binding when I rolled to sleep on my side. Maybe I am just not use to Bivys. All and all a good light weight yet livable protective sleeping solution.

The best binding going
Flow Team Binding
December 9, 2005
These bindings are worth every penny. I have these and the Pro FR’s, and they are the best binding I have ever ridden. These have all of the advantages of Flows with none of the disadvantages (weight). They are light, very responsive and comfortable. They are also super customizable. One thing to know is that if you are going to customize them, do it in the comfort of your house, the pins used to keep the hardware in place are a pain to get off and on (the up side is that its nearly impossible lose your hardware). If you are looking for the best binding made, this is it.

Hard Core
Flow Pro FR Snowboard Binding
December 9, 2005
These bindings Rock! I have these and the Teams, both are the best bindings I have owned! They are comfortable without sacrificing any sensitivity of the binding, I am able to keep them tight (I like my setup tight) without cutting off the circulation in my foot, and I have no foot pain. They are also super quick to get in and out of, in most cases I don’t have to stop after I get off of a lift, I just slide my back foot in, pull up the lever and I am gone! The only downside to the Pro FR’s is the weight, they are heavy, but I ride them on my big mountain board, and I feel the weight seems to help with dampening the board at high speed, so it is a trade off.

Eagle Creek ORV Trunk 30 - 6000 cu in
October 7, 2004
I just did a 3 week trip to Fiji with my wife and we used the ORV trunk for both of us! This is the nicest piece of luggage that I have ever owned. It is well compartmentalized so it is easy to organize your stuff (if you use the eagle creek packing solutions you will be amazed how much more you can pack). It rolls like a charm and looks sweet as well. What also makes me feel confident about buying this is the lifetime guarantee on it, even though I will be really surprised if I ever have to use it, the construction is bomber!

Little ripper.
Snow Peak GigaPower Stove, Titanium Manual Ignition
October 7, 2004
I have been a liquid gas stove guy for a while and decided to go back to the canisters to save some weight, and since the weight was my main concern I bought this stove. It is insanely light and compact. I figured this little stove would work well but would not be able to match my dragonfly in pure BTU output (seeing my dragonfly does a great imitation of the space shuttle on launch). To my surprise this little stove was able to boil water in just about the same time! There are a couple of things that you have to watch out for, the burner area is very small so you can't just put your pot on the stove and forget about it, the stove will scorch your pan. Also if you buy this stove buy the windscreen, you will need it. If you are into light and small this is the stove for you.

It doesn’t get better than this.
Black Diamond Ahwahnee Tent 2-Person 4-Season
October 7, 2004
This tent is the most versatile tent made. It has the ability to go from the desert to mountaineering without losing a step. The 2 doors give it infinite breathability while the construction allows it to be used in the harshest of conditions. At 6 lbs it is not the lightest tent… but you will not find another tent that has the usability range of this tent, period.

Great sunglasses
Smith Ambush Sunglasses - Polarized
October 7, 2004
These are my favorite sunglasses, and I am a sunglasses slut :) The polarized lens works great and the shape of the frame is perfect for cutting out the glare from below. If you are into fishing I would recommend these highly!

Good Shoes
MSR Denali Ascent Snowshoe
October 6, 2004
These shoes work very well in most conditions. You will need the flotation tails in deep powder, but otherwise they perform remarkable well for their size. One thing, if you are going to use them for Backcountry Snowboarding get the EVO Accents instead, the space for the front of your snowboarding boots are too small on these, they will rub a hole in the tops of your snowboard boot toes.

Good access choice
K2 Approach Ski
October 6, 2004
I have the clicker version of these and they work really well. They are light weight, you can use existing skin tracks with no problem, they glide well and the transition time is as fast if not faster than Tele or AT skiers. There are a few down sides, I would not try to ski these, there is a good chance you would break your neck. They don’t work well on steep, slick skin tracks (a crampon set up on the bindings would be helpful), and you can feel them on your pack as you ride down (even though this is not a major problem). Over all they are a better way of getting into the backcountry than snowshoes IMO.

Great Watch
Suunto Observer Titanium Watch
October 6, 2004
I love this watch. It is good looking and light for it's size (I don’t really notice it compared to other large watches that I have owned. I have put the face though some rough treatment and it only has 1 small scratch, where my citizen watch has numerous scratches from the same kind of abuse. I have (by mistake) hit the button underwater and nothing bad happened, but I would not try it on purpose, I have also gone diving with this watch 4 times and it performed fine (none of the dives were over 70 feet). My only complaint is that it is a little complicated to use, but once you have it down it is not a problem to use.
