Gear Review
Out of the box and on to the trail.

These boots have to be the most comfortable hiking boots that I have ever worn. No break in period. That's right, take them out of the box, put them on, and by the time you reach the trail head they are all broken in. They are lightweight and the Gore-tex works as advertised, keeping my feet dry in both rain and run-off.
These boots do have a darkside though, and that's it has bad soul, I mean sole. Early morning dew, a fully loaded pack plus a leaf and rock covered trail equaled a lot of slipping and sliding. More than I am accustomed to or was comfortable with. Maybe my trailmix fermented but I was having a lot more trouble with footing than my compatriots. Where you do most of your hiking and the conditions you do it in is something to think about before you purchase these babies.
