Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Beacon

Item #BCA0018 | 576 in Stock
2 Star Rating

PR hype

By Ranked #226 - Avalanche Beacons October 19, 2008

All beacons produced work. It is the user who makes them fast or slow, not the technology. So if you practice how to find someone who is lost in an avalanche, then u are being a responsible user of the safety equipment. If you looking for the best product available you have to go with the newer designs and technology available on the market right now. Tracker is 10+ years old and soon to be out of standard, according to the industry agreed on operating standards. So unless they make the tracker 2 a reality, this piece of equipment is outdated and other products out preform it all the time. Stop buying into a product that spends its money on an expensive PR campaign and start looking at the companies that lead they way in the industry with new technology and safety functions. I want the third antenna for a refined and faster location when closing in on the victim. I want reliability that will go beyond today. I can't buy a product that will soon be out of standard. Sure it works, but really how much better is this beacon then the others that offer more technology and have a better track record world wide. Don't buy hype, buy real solid equipment that is built for today, yesterday and the future.
