Gear Review
Perfectly happy with it

Ranked #213 - Men's Rain Jackets

I've been hiking in the rain twice with this jacket (seemingly the only two times it has rained in SE Utah the last 8 months....). It worked very well both times. There was no moisture, whatsoever, on the inner part of the jacket, nor on my under-layers. I bought my son the same jacket, and he had the same experience. I'm not sure what the person below (or the Customer Service they called) is referring to about the jacket not being made for backpacks. Both times I've used this jacket in the rain, I've used it with a backpack, and I've had no problems, at all.
However, the fit is a little problemmatic for me. It seems that I am about a large-and-a-half in both MHW and Patagonia, so the XL I bought runs a little big (I am 6' and 200 lbs). However, I will be using it as a shell, sometimes with multiple, thicker layers underneath, so it should be fine.
I am perfectly happy with this jacket, as I have been with any Gore-tex gear I've ever owned. I'm somewhat new to MHW, but I'm starting to feel the same way about their gear - it's well made, functions exactly as it's supposed to, and I've been perfectly happy with MHW gear, as well.
