A Kick ass Piece Of Mountain Bling
By Chris Davenport
Ranked #543 - Altimeters
October 17, 2008
Well it might not be as blingy as your diamond Piaget, but it can do a whole lot more. I rock the Core on and off the hill. Unless I'm trying to measure my vert and runs skied, or I'm on an expedition, this is my go to wristop computer. It's a great looking watch with easy to use features, not like those lame watches that are so packed with unnecessary features that the manual is a hundred pages long.
The bottom line with the Core is it looks great and works great, both on and off the hill.

The Core can measure vert (total, high point, low point, asc/desc. rates and count runs)As for the quality issues, these were present in the first production run, but have been fixed, and all the current Core are running smoothly. I much prefer the menu and features and materials (glass face), as well as the thickness, to the Vector.

Hi Chris, Similar to the previous comment, I'm curious what you meant by "except for expeditions"? For many folks, we'll only own one altimeter at a time. I've seen a number of quality issues posted about the Core, and am considering purchasing the old-school Vector for this reason, so a clarification would be great! Thanks. AC
