Love the jacket! But it should have pockets...

By Ranked #26 - Infant Jackets October 10, 2008

First let me say that we absolutely love Patagonia down jackets! I bought this for my 2 year old son about a month ago. All of our friends have these jackets as well for their kids. The jacket is really light weight and movable and my son still easily fits into his carseat. We love all the colors (we bought green). The jacket is very warm, though we'll see if it's warm enough in when it gets colder out. We live in Alaska and it gets to be -20 degrees at times. Though the jacket is poofy enough that it is quick easy to layer, so maybe it'll work well. I also like the cute snowpants. We ended up buying bibs which we love. We tried the pants, but they don't fit tall skinny kids. My son fit the 3T length wise but 12 month size in the waist. Anyways. Back to the jacket. There are two things I dislike about this jacket...

1. No pockets. WHAT?! This is okay for little ones not yet walking around, but 2 and 3 year olds need pockets! As far as I can tell none of the infant/toddler jackets have pockets. I know that the Kid size jackets have pockets, but my son won't fit into those sizes yet!

2. No drawstring waist. Drawstring is nice to keep in extra warmth, and if you've got a skinny kid like me you can adjust the waist. I should write the company with these suggestions....

Overall...we are very happy with the jacket in the fall weather, I'm not sure it'll be warm enough for below zero weather though.
