"Maybe the perfect shell?" - Review of Cloudveil Rayzar Ski Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 By Adrienne Adams on October 7, 2008
I've always hated shells with hoods--I prefer to wear a rain hat or beanie, depending on the weather. The collar of the Rayzar keeps out the rain really well without strangling me. I've worn this hiking in the rain and it sheds water like a duck. The fabric is light, quiet, and super-stretchy. The fit is great for me. I have broad shoulders and am relatively short-waisted. Gals with narrow shoulders and a long waist may find it too boxy. The fit is excellent with a light fleece underneath, but fine over just a light shirt too. I'm looking forward to trying this out snowshoeing and mountain biking this winter. It's got good coverage over the back and nice long sleeves. A really thoughtful detail for those with long hair--the collar adjustment cordlock is under little flap of fabric so it doesn't snag my ponytail. Nice! Overall a really well-made and well-designed shell. I hope to have many years of use out of it.
