"Good, expensive, not perfect." - Review of Osprey Packs Meridian 22 Wheeled Convertible Backpack - 3700cu in
Good design, high end materials used. Is it worth the retail? Probably..but seems like %95 of the world survives ok with luggage 1/3 the cost.
Do you really need a rolley bag with backpack straps? If you think you're going to switch from rolley to pack as you go up & down subway steps..think again. The straps take time to set up & you wouldn't pull it with the straps out because they'll drag. You will end up carrying it like a regular luggage because of it. It did come in handy hopping on a bicycle & throwing it on my back though.
I was denied taking it as a carry on- even after taking off the daypack & trying to carry both. This totally defeated the purpose of getting this piece of luggage for me.
Also, osprey decided to not include a waist strap for the daypack. While it still has comfortable straps..after carrying water/snacks/maps for 3 people.. i decided to use the rolley bag as "the" daypack, defeating the purpose of having the daypack as an option. (although the added 20 L of space is nice over the sojourn version). Also, like the other reviewer- the way the daypack compartment is designed..stuff was often spilling out all over the place whenever accessing something.
Overall, a good bag..but did not meet many of my needs. Had it been half the cost i'd be more forgiving.
