This jacket is actually welded together using a proprietary welding technology from Mountain Hardwear called "Z-Weld." This technique of welding does not require seam tape to be fully waterproof and this is the coolest thing about it. You see, tape doesn't breathe due to adhesive... so, with no tape you get more breathable surface area in the jacket as a whole. You think it couldn't add that much... but it does! I will also say this - independent testing has shown this Conduit Fabric to be some of the most breathable fabric we have ever worked with. This increased breathability is due to the combo of fabrics and the laminate as a whole. It is an amazing piece and a testament to what we can do.
