Frost Bittin'

By Backcountry.com Employee September 18, 2008

My toes had a dance with Frostbite while wearing these sock. I know, I know, logically I can't assign blame for this condition, there were many factors at play...But in away it does feel better to deflect blame and implement a shortcoming to a pair of socks that I was never very fond of. The fit was never right for me and the socks had a tendency to bunch. I also was not impressed with there overall durability, a pair would not withstand a season of 100+ days.

Well... It should be apparent from reading everyone's comments that these are socks are not fireside snuggies. They are formfitting, and therefore most appropriate for advanced skiers who understand that boots have to fit so well that there is no room for socks with any significant bulk. I've owned 3 pair of these socks for several years. They fit very well, without bunching, and have padding only where needed. Also, because they are a natural fiber, they don't stink up really quick as my synthetic socks do. Overall, a great asset. Only downside is that the elastic is starting to go - but after 3 years, I guess I shouldn't complain. A great product!
