Ranked #780 - Rock Climbing Shoes
September 16, 2008
I used these a couple of times on some local trails and just around town to break them in a bit before really putting them to use. At first, they were a bit stiff and uncomfortable, but that didn't last long. I just returned from a trip in the Sierra Nevada backcountry. They were the only shoe/boot I brought. We were doing some cross-country routes into third and fourth class peak climbs. The shoe was great. I was glad to shed some weight off my feet. The only downside is that a low shoe like this is more prone to get rocks in your shoe. I had gaitors with me, but the problem never warranted the use. They would solve that problem if it got to be too bothersome.
Good shoe. They took some good abuse this trip. I hope they hold up in the long term.
