"pretty nice jacket" - Review of The North Face Zot Windstopper Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 By hikingPA on September 11, 2008
the windstopper material is only in the colored part of the jacket. the gray under the arms and down the sides is the apex stuff - so don't expect wind to not blow through it. it does allow for adequate breathing and find pitzips unnecessary. the texture of the jacket (both inside and out) feels really nice against bare skin and the zipper has a guard on the back of it to block wind and keep the metal off your skin. the top of the zipper has a little flap that tucks the zipper in so it doesn't scratch your chin. it's a pretty thin jacket so it's best to have some insulation handy if you expect cold temps. the velcro handcuffs are nice and work well, as do 2 locking cords around the waist. the neck is on the larger size. overall i'm pretty pleased w/ this jacket and the price i got it for (<$80 at steepandcheap.com which is a subsidary of backcountry) i can't give this 5 stars b/c it doesn't have a hood
