Trusting Pelican cost me my camera

I was canyoneering with my camera in this case and it was tied to my backpack. When throwing the pack on my shoulder after exiting a pot hole, the case flung open and my camera flew out and into another pot hole. I called Pelican, and received no sympathy, just your typical "we DO stand behind our product, we'll replace it if it was defective, but we won't replace the loss our defective product caused." Trusting Pelican was a $350 mistake.

That's a bummer, but I've never had one of these cases open on accident. I have four of these cases in various sizes/colors, and there has never been an instance where they opened up during a drop. Believe me, I am rough on my gear (mostly because I'm just an extremo-clumsy dude), but these cases have earned my trust.
