Ranked #640 - Duffel Bags
August 10, 2008
Mountainsmith makes super durable produts & this duffel is no exception. The large is highly versatile: Perfect size for those who want a duffel able to carry up to 2 weeks worth of clothes, etc. but not so large that it can't be used for shorter, week-long trips(the compression straps obviously make this possible). Everything from the material to the zippers, side handles, compression straps & shoulder strap are "quality" for sure.

I just got 2 XXL bags solely for camping and hiking gear storage. They are the best storage volume per $$, and are roughly half the price compared to comparable Patagonia or North Face duffel bags. The trade-off is that they are pure storage bags for mountaineering and camping gear, and I did not intend to use them for air travel.
