Not so Good Beam

I bought this headlamp specifically for the advertised beam length. I have to say that I was disappointed. Using the full 175m beam I could not see a 3m gate in a hedgerow at a distance of 80m, the low beam (88m) is all but useless, the LED's give out more light.
I believe the fault is with the reflector as the light is a fairly good flood light but this light cannot be adequately focused into a beam.
That being said the rest of the headlamp is very good,it is comfortable and the battery/battery charging setup is excellent.
Conclusion:
This is basically a good headlamp but for applications requiring a good beam it is let down by poor reflector design.
Addendum:
As I bought this lamp whilst on holiday in the USA (I live in the UK)I decided to try something before returning it. I bought a cheap lamp with a similar size reflector and adapted the reflector to fit the soliras, the result was a lamp with an excellent beam and I will be keeping this lamp.
