"Love/Hate" - Review of Kelty Green River Tent 4-Person 3-Season
I got this tent for Christmas last year and was initially really psyched. It's got tons of room inside even with three people, two of them over 6 feet, and all our gear for 18 days of camping and climbing. It's tall enough to stand in (probably a 6'4"-ish ceiling) and easy to set up. Then the wind kicked in. In one night of 30-35 mph winds, the tent went from flapping too loudly to sleep in to buckling all the way to the floor. In that night, the 4 poles broke in a total of 7 places. In addition, the waterproof flaps in the vestibule are inside the screen part, so they just catch water and funnel it on to your gear. It may be a 3-season tent in your backyard in San Diego, but not for real camping.
