These boots are definitely amazing. Yesterday, I hiked Crestone Peak (one of the hardest 14ers in CO) in them without having broken them in first (hadn't worn them at all) and it was 10 miles and over 5000 feet of steep vertical gain and didn't even get a hot spot let alone a blister! Super comfortable and totally waterproof after hiking though lots of snow and water. The traction also is excellent in any condition so I didn't even have a second thought about my foot staying firm through some sketchy climbing! I don't think my feet have ever been so comfortable! My hiking buddy had a very different story in his Merrells. His feet were totally soaked and had huge blisters. He also couldn't get anywhere near the same traction. Now here's the real difference that speaks for itself. At the end of the day when we got back to our vehicle my buddy had to change out of his hiking boots, back into "comfy boots" as for me I already had mine on.
