North Face Hedgehog Mid Boots
By spauly222240739
Ranked #1285 - Men's Hiking Shoes
July 3, 2008
I've just received my boots and had them out on one six-mile hike along the Sierra Nevada ridge south of Donner Pass. A few hundred feet of elevation gain and loss. I was carrying a loaded pack with 16 lbs of water (my 3-day pack weighs 18.5 lbs). The boots performed perfectly--no hot spots, no break-in, no problems. One minor negative: the laces are way too long, and I'll be shortening them.
Expect to cross deep streams with them in a couple of weeks and wipe them out each time. Will let you know how this works. If ok, this means I don't have to carry water shoes.
