Solid Performer

Ranked #1375 - Men's Trail Run Shoes

Best shoe I've ever had! Solid performer on the trails or on the road. Lacing system is excellent, never have to worry about your shoe coming untied. This is my fourth pair. Salomon has made small, but improved changes to each model.

and sorry... another good option is the SpeedCross 2. Light, grippy it's the trail run expert for those who have a good technique. Cushy enough to run "part time" on the road it's the race car of trail runners! Notice that the SpeedCross2 don't have a chassis, which ingredient provides additional stability on uneven terrain for those who are not used to technical trails. If you need it, XT Hawks and XT Wings will suit you better.

I personally don't recommend them on roads, lack of cushioning and maybe too "low to the ground" in the heel area for some runners. If you blend all types of running, on and off pavement, I'd recommend you the XT Wings 2 (pretty soon available, around Jan/Feb) or the XT Hawks. Both of them perform on trails and have a better shock absorption set up. The Hawks is on the lighter side, the XT Wings on the protective side.
