The technology seems to work.
Used to have a pair of Oakleys that I used cycling, found that they were just too dark to see well in the trees.
These Julbo's do seem to adjust when you enter the shade from the bright light.
Haven't used them for skiing yet, but they're just not as dark as the Oakleys were, so the bright light off the snow could be an issue.
