I bought my first Switchback Max 22 bag, about 18 months ago. I travel all over the world, so my bag gets plenty of use. The bag has held up very well. It will fit in most airline overheads, as long as you remove the backpack. The main bag has backpack straps, so you can carry it like a backpack or roll it on wheels. If you don't intend on carrying it in the backpack mode, there are cheaper bags, without this option, that will give you a little more room and still fit in the overhead. But if your journeys are like mine, a week in London, before traveling to a ship off of the Cameroun coast, then flying from Africa to a tent camp in Kamchatka Russia, you will appreciate the flexibility of this bag. I recently purchased a Switchback bag for my son, from this site. We are going to meet in Paris this summer to do a bit of touring, so he will get a chance to try his new bag.
