Got these in 2003 and aside from one small snag on the back heel loop, you would never guess it. I brought them backpacking with me and although they add a little weight, they were awesome to have once in camp to lounge around and walk through rivers in.

That's because yours were made in Colorado. The newer ones made in China pale by comparison. The soul is less flexible...bummer indeed.
