I bought a size L for an 11 year old, 65 pounds, but returned it because he said the arms were tight. The fleece was not "zippered in". We had a smiliar The North Face waterproof 3/1, more expensive, with a zip-in fleece and full hood in size M, bought a few years ago, and the cut was much better.
