Gear Review
Runs Very Small

Ranked #1709 - Women's Rain Jackets
February 4, 2008
Ten years ago I bought a Marmot Jacket with the same features as the Tamarack: Uninsulated shell with Membrain, pit zips, zip-off hood, powder skirt, angel-wing movement, miscellaneous pockets. It is a women's large, and fits perfectly even though I usually wear XL. I LOVE my jacket, but it's, well, ten years old. After reading the RUNS SMALL review, I called Marmot, who said their sizing should be the same as ten years ago. So I ordered an XL, just to be safe. THIS JACKET IS WAY TOO SMALL. It is far smaller in the arms, chest and waist than my old jacket (and I wear fewer and thinner layers than anyone I know!) I understand that "style" dictates that we all look svelte on skis, but this is a technical jacket. I'm very disappointed and despair of finding a jacket with the features I want that fits. If you're built like a marathon runner, this jacket will serve you well. If you're a C-cup and have any upper body muscle, forget it.
