Great all around boot for alpine climbing snow & ice

I have used these once so far for an overnight summer alpine climb in the Sierra Mountains in California. It was 80 deg F out during the day and 30 at night. Standing on a 50 deg snow/ice gully, my feet were kept just barely warm enough, yet my feet didn't toast during the day hike in to the base of the climb. Relatively light. I was able to maneuver through some loose technical 4th class rock with these. Medium foot width and volume. I needed to tighten the laces with special lacing techniques to keep the heels down. Because of this, I didn't use the tongue stiffeners that would add considerable stiffness for frontpointing on ice, but don't allow the tightening of laces to keep the heels from lifting. Would be nice if the tongue was fully instead of 3/4 gusseted to keep out the rocks and plant material. Survived the beating on the way down through a few miles of talus, scree and dirt. Can't wait to take them out again. Great with Grivel G12 Newmatic Crampons. Used in conjunction with green Superfeet insoles.
